Noise Pollution Awareness Session Held for Students at Uruli Devachi School

Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation: Uruli Devachi (Tal. Haveli, Dist. Pune):
With the objective of promoting responsible environmental behaviour among students, Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation organised a Noise Pollution Awareness Session at Samata Vidyalaya, Uruli Devachi, managed by Sane Guruji Shikshan Sanstha. The programme was conducted on 10 January 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Rajendra Kulkarni, Manager of Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation. He highlighted the Foundation’s initiatives in environmental conservation and spoke about the increasing problem of noise pollution and its adverse effects on physical and mental health.

The main session was conducted by Dr. Garima Kavathekar, Founder and Director of the Foundation. She explained the concept of noise pollution in a simple and interactive manner, introduced the meaning of decibel, and demonstrated the use of a decibel meter through live examples. Dr. Kavathekar also discussed common sources of noise pollution and suggested practical preventive measures such as maintaining discipline during celebrations, reducing unnecessary clapping, and avoiding loud whistles.

Students actively participated in the session, making the workshop informative and engaging. Principal Mr. Ramchandra Ghadave appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of sensitising students to environmental issues from an early age.

The programme was attended by Supervisor Mr. Rushikant Bhosale, Mr. Nana Zambre, Mr. Sharad More, women teachers, non-teaching staff members Mr. Bhokse, Mr. Memane, Mr. Tele, Principal Mr. Ramchandra Ghadave, and Mr. Ganpati Khot, member of Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Sadanand Narute, Art Teacher.

Approximately 900 students along with 20 teachers and non-teaching staff members participated in the programme. The session was successfully conducted with the cooperation and permission of the school administration.
