Pune, September 8, 2026: Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation (NSWF) inaugurated its annual Noise Pollution Awareness Programme yesterday at Late Ramchandra Bankar Vidyalaya, PMC School, Pune, marking the beginning of a year-long initiative to educate 500+ students about noise pollution and promote responsible environmental behaviour.
The programme follows the recently signed MoU between Nisarg Srishti Welfare Foundation and Late Ramchandra Bankar Vidyalaya, under which the Foundation will conduct regular awareness sessions and activities for students throughout the year.
The Foundation (NSWF) expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Shri Sunil Bankar Sir and Primary School Principal Mrs. Lavina Chandekar Ma’am for their valuable encouragement, cooperation and support in initiating this year-long awareness programme at the school. The Foundation sincerely thanked all the teachers and school staff for their active participation and for providing a supportive environment for creating awareness among students.
The inauguration was attended by Dr. Garima Kavathekar, Founder Director, NSWF, along with Ms. Neena Singh Project Head; Mr. Rajendra Kulkarni, Manager; and Ms. Shashikala Kumbhar Project Head – Pune.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Garima Kavathekar highlighted the importance of creating awareness among children at an early age. She emphasised that students can become powerful ambassadors of change by understanding the impact of noise pollution and encouraging responsible practices within their families and communities.
With more than 14 years of work in noise pollution awareness, NSWF continues to promote awareness, community participation, decibel monitoring and technology-led solutions to address noise pollution.
The initiative at Late Ramchandra Bankar Vidyalaya aims to empower students with knowledge and responsibility, creating a generation that understands that a quieter environment means better health, better learning and a better quality of life.
